It's Been a While, meet Collin :)

I was pregnant. What felt like forever.

We had a baby boy, Collin.

He and Harper get a long great :)

Collin is such a good baby.

We bought a house in St. George. Wah???? Johnny took over a management position at Dixie Regional, while still being enrolled in his last year of the pMBA program at the UofU making long crappy commutes every week to SLC.

Harper and Collin are still good friends.

Johnny started a business with a friend and launched their first venture.

And any spare time is currently being sucked from us by the yard and house. Crazy things have happened since I posted last. I love looking back and seeing how much can happen in only a year or two.

For the beauty of the earth.

I love spring. I've decided I like temple square in the spring with the tulips and blossoms even more (way more, really) than at Christmas with the lights. I think it's so much more appealing. Perfect temperature, smells fantastic, less crowded, let your kid run free on the grass, stop by Rocky Mt Chocolate Factory for a chocolate caramel covered apple, eat it outside near the fountains at City Creek, go buy more chocolate 'cause it was so good you want more and end up spending too much- but it's ok every now and again, eat it outside near the fountains at City Creek, again, wipe off your sticky child, go home and your child goes to bed easily that night 'cause he's tired... ahhhh.

Cross your fingers

This year I was ambitious with the small space we have in back. I more than doubled the amount of pots we grew last year. From 4 to 9 to be exact. Hopefully everything grows cause if you were to look at Tito's patch of grass we laid for him last year you'd think it would all be dead in a week. This year we have a patio tomato, cherry tomato, basil, oregano, parsley, thyme, rosemary, a small sweet pepper, spinach, lettuce, 2 strawberry, peas, and green beans. The peas, beans, lettuce and spinach are all from seed and I've never done that before. I'm also waiting just a titch longer to plant some cucumber seeds but honestly I don't know where it will go. Sheesh, last year was only a tomato plant and herbs. I want to have some good early spring,  late summer pictures so I really hope everything does well. I especially want some produce, lots and lots and lots.

Easter

I love spring, it's by far my favorite season. I also love Easter, but I don't know what my favorite holiday is.

I got to go spring skiing a few weeks back with my brothers and dad. Seems I only go once a year now. Johnny was sick otherwise he would've gone too :(. I was pretty worn out by the end of the day seeing how i was around 20 weeks pregnant and out of shape.

Here is a pic of baby boy number 2 at 19 weeks.  I'm now 22 weeks.

Little Reminder

I had to speak in sacrament today.  On our way to church I was telling Johnny I hoped my talk made sense as far as the order of things.  His answer reminded me that I married the right man.

"Just don't fart up there and you'll be fine."

He'll always get a laugh out of me.

Snowwwwww

Seems like we've had more snow this year than recent years.  It keeps snowing before it has a chance to melt. The inversion did hang a round for quite a while and it's finally clear so we went out to play in some fresh snow. Had to have hot chocolate afterward. All Harper wanted, really, were the marshmallows :).

Drum roll please...

Here it goes. We are so excited, come Aug. 2nd, Harper will have a sibling! I can not tell you how much this boy just needs a buddy.  His mom is a little bit of a recluse and mostly quiet in large crowds, and don't get me wrong, he can do his own thing, but I think he takes a little more after his Dad in this area. He loves being with people.

I've been feeling bad for my family. I haven't cooked much these past 3 months. My stomach turns when I think about food. Can't even open the fridge with out feeling it. Haven't puked thank goodness.  Oh, and ps you know you're pregnant when you cry watching Shark Tank because a stay at home mom scored a deal with a shark for her dipped pretzel business. :/

I do feel I may disappear from the planet after the second comes. I know I'm exaggerating but thats how I feel. Like I said, here it goes.

A Lot Can Happen in Almost a Year

I won't try to bring you completely up to speed. Here are a few things that have happened in 2012 and early 2013.

Johnny got into the MBA program at the UofU and he is currently in his 2nd semester out of 6 I think. It is a two year program including summers so I think that adds up correctly.  I'm glad it's him and not me cause I don't think I would like it one bit.  He is awesome working at LDS Hospital full time as the Unit Education Consultant (I think that's his official title)  and going to school full time.

Harper is 2 and sometimes I don't think there is a mean bone in his body.  Yeah, he has the usual tantrums and occasional experimental hitting but I hope he never learns to really want to hit or push anyone.  The poor guy just got out of the hospital after a 3 1/2 day stay because of an infection that grew in his neck.  They did minor surgery to drain it and it looks like we are in the clear and getting back to normal life.  He is slightly traumatized by the whole experience.  To even try to brush his teeth takes some coaxing. If he is scared or wants to get out of us doing something to him (change a diaper, clip his nails etc.) he has now learned to say "I wan cuddle, I wan cuddle". Poor thing.  It was all very stressful but we are beyond grateful that's all that was wrong with him. Meeting other parents at Primary Children's made you sad to hear they had been there a few days short of a month.  We got out of there in less than a work week!  We are so happy to be home.

We got our poor Tito neutered. Not the most exciting news but I got really sad and nervous for him the day of.  He is perfectly fine. :)

We moved to Sandy, UT.

Johnny and I ran the Pocatello Marathon.  His second time and my first.  We both would like to do another one but with a kid this small and both of us training it made it difficult.   We may have to stagger the years we each train for one.

Here are a few pictures .....

Sure You Can Hold Him, But I Will Sweat

I've been randomly thinking about what type of parent I've been for Harper up until now.  One thing that's stuck out in my mind is when people would hold him.  I would sweat over the amount of time that had past since they picked him up.  I wanted them to hold, love and kiss him as much as they wanted but I didn't want them to feel like they were stuck with him.  Looking back I think I probably was way too worried about that.  They could put him down or give him back as soon as they wanted but I would feel so uncomfortable only because when I had held someone else's baby I was to shy to hand them back over.  Well, I don't think shy is the right word for it but you get the idea.  To be honest I never have had the "oh it's a little baby, I must hold that baby, that precious little baby" feeling.  I may not be as motherly or womanly as you but I feel like I need to put it out there.  I've never had an urge to hold a baby.  Other than my own that is.  I'm happy to hold my own offspring and it makes me happy.  Just know that if you are holding a child of mine, I will be slightly worried you are sick of him/her and want to move on with you day.  So if I hoover over you it's only to be there as soon as you are feeling done, not b/c I think you are going to drop him/her.

Speaking of holding a baby, Harper doesn't want to be held much anymore.  He would rather walk and walk and walk around in circles.  Isn't there a song out there about walking in circles?  Seriously though, he sometimes dances (walks in a circle) or just walks in a circle.  I think he likes that he can turn on a dime.  :)

HOLY CRAP IT'S BEEN FOREVER part 2

Ok, we freed up some space on our computer so I uploaded more pictures :) here are some that will help recap.

Took some naps on the beach and loved the ocean but those pictures wouldn't work for some reason.

Spent an afternoon at an Arboretum. And picked some fruit from their fruit trees, shhh don't tell.

1st baseball game, way past my bedtime.  Went to see the Anaheim Angels, lose....

Grew a mustache.

Along with the rest of my family.

and other family. I think my grandma Eves and Ashley's looks fantastic.

Then I ate a mustache.

HOLY CRAP ITS BEEN FOREVER!

I have no idea where we have been all these months. I think I haven't posted in forever b/c our computer is full and I haven't been able to upload any new pictures. Pictures usually lead to a post.  All I can say is that summer was fun, fall was fantastic, and here comes winter! It's been fun watching Harper learn and grow.

 Milestones:

Can you believe it?! HE'S ONE!!!! We had a fun 'Stache Bash with our families for his first birthday.  I'll have to post pictures sometime when I can actually load them. We had mustache cake, mustache cookies, pin the mustache on Harper, as well as fake mustaches to wear.

He is on the verge of walking and talking.  Seriously, you can see he really just wants to take off and especially when there are other kids around.  He wants to play with them so badly!  I am mostly writing all this for myself to remember what milestones he hit at one so skip ahead if you'd like.  :)  He currently can say Mom, Mum (mostly), or Mumum, Dad, or Dada or Dadad, Tito, or more like Dida, Dah (dog) Bah (ball), and make car engine sounds when he plays with his cars. Oh yeah and he mimics the sounds of peek-a-boo with a high pitched squeak then a sound that is similar to boo. Sounds something like "ah ooo".
He can point to Mom's eyes and as of this morning Mom's nose. He loves to take his fingers to your lips (sometimes his own lips) and strum them while you hum to make some awesome noises.  He can clap, play So Big, and patty cake. He loves music and has discovered jumping, thanks to Taylor and Vanessa's Jumping Johnny.  He had to try it out after he saw Sawyer jumping like crazy in it.  He loves pretty much all food, not too picky. He loves to be included, if you are walking somewhere and say "come on Harper" he crawls super fast to catch up. He can nod yes or no, most the time it flows with the conversation which is funny b/c we can't tell if he understands nodding completely.  But, he does it so often we kind of think he gets it, which makes me wonder... how much does he really understand? He is so funny and we love him!
